What is a Wiki?

  • A wiki, rarely also called WikiWiki or WikiWeb is a Hypertext-system for web sites, their content by users not only read but can be modified directly in the browser. This property is provided with a simplified Content-Management-System, called wiki software and wiki engine.



  • A Wiki consists has three parts:
    • the articles page, be changed by anyone
    • an area in which the previous versions are stored (-> Versioning)
    • a discussion page where the content of the article page can be discussed


  • Advanced Features
    • It is possible to assign different rights and pseudonyms, real names or even all of your work without registration.
    • This rights must be communicated transparant in the respective company.
